JeffCo Home Pros helps homeowners, businesses, landlords, property managers, and other property owners connect with independent contractors serving Jefferson County, Alabama.
The following answers explain how our contractor-referral service works and what customers should expect.
What is JeffCo Home Pros?
JeffCo Home Pros is a contractor-referral and lead-coordination service. We help customers connect with independent contractors who may be available to evaluate repairs, installations, replacements, maintenance needs, remodeling projects, cleanup work, and other property improvements.
Does JeffCo Home Pros perform the work?
No. Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, JeffCo Home Pros does not perform, direct, supervise, or control contractor work.
The contractors receiving referrals are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of JeffCo Home Pros.
How does the contractor-referral process work?
The process generally works as follows:
- You submit information about the service or project you need.
- JeffCo Home Pros reviews your request.
- We may share the request with one or more independent contractors.
- A contractor may contact you to ask questions, schedule an inspection, or provide an estimate.
- You decide whether you want to hire the contractor.
Submitting a request does not guarantee contractor availability, an appointment, an estimate, or project acceptance.
What types of services can I request?
Customers may request referrals for many home and property services, including:
- Plumbing
- Heating and air conditioning
- Electrical services
- Roofing and gutters
- Remodeling and renovation

What areas does JeffCo Home Pros serve?

Some municipalities extend into neighboring counties. Referral availability depends on the property’s location and the contractor’s service area.
What if my community is not listed?
Submit your service address, city, and ZIP code or contact us directly. We can review the location and determine whether a contractor may be available.
How do I request a contractor referral?
You can submit a request through the website, call (256) 221-3387, or email roger@jeffcohomepros.com.
Include your name, telephone number, email address, service location, type of service needed, project description, and preferred schedule.
Can I send photographs of the project?
Yes. Photographs, videos, measurements, plans, inspection reports, and other project information may help us and the contractor understand your request.
An on-site inspection may still be required before a contractor can provide accurate recommendations or pricing.
How quickly will a contractor contact me?
Response times vary based on the service requested, property location, project type, contractor schedules, weather, and current demand.
JeffCo Home Pros does not guarantee a particular response time. If you have not received a response, contact us so we can review the request.
Is JeffCo Home Pros an emergency service?
No. JeffCo Home Pros is not an emergency-response or emergency-dispatch service.
For fires, gas leaks, electrical hazards, medical emergencies, crimes in progress, structural collapses, or other immediate threats to people or property, call 911 or the appropriate utility or emergency authority.
Are estimates free?
Each independent contractor establishes its own estimate, inspection, diagnostic, travel, and service-call policies.
Some contractors may offer free estimates. Others may charge for inspections, diagnostics, measurements, designs, travel, or detailed proposals. Ask whether a fee applies before scheduling an appointment.
Does submitting a request authorize a charge?
Submitting a referral request does not, by itself, authorize an independent contractor to charge you.
Before scheduling an appointment or authorizing work, ask the contractor about service-call fees, inspection charges, deposits, payment terms, and cancellation policies.
Who determines the project price?
The independent contractor determines estimates, pricing, deposits, payment schedules, and financing options.
JeffCo Home Pros does not prepare, control, approve, or guarantee contractor pricing.
Am I required to hire the referred contractor?
No. You decide whether to hire a contractor. Requesting a referral or receiving an estimate does not obligate you to authorize work.
Review the contractor’s qualifications, estimate, proposed agreement, and project terms before deciding.
Can I request more than one estimate?
You may ask to be connected with more than one contractor, but multiple referrals or estimates are not guaranteed.
Contractor participation depends on location, availability, project type, and scheduling. You may also independently obtain additional estimates.
Are referred contractors licensed and insured?
Licensing and insurance requirements vary by trade, project type, property type, project value, and jurisdiction.
JeffCo Home Pros may review information provided by contractors, but we do not guarantee the accuracy or continued validity of licensing, insurance, bonding, qualifications, or other credentials.
Customers should independently verify all applicable licenses and request current proof of insurance before hiring a contractor.
Does JeffCo Home Pros conduct background checks?
JeffCo Home Pros does not guarantee that every contractor, owner, employee, technician, or subcontractor has undergone a criminal, financial, or other background check.
You are responsible for evaluating a contractor and deciding who may enter your property or perform work.
Who signs the project contract?
The customer and independent contractor enter into the project agreement directly.
JeffCo Home Pros is not a party to contractor estimates, contracts, change orders, warranties, financing agreements, or payment arrangements unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
Who receives payment for the work?
Unless expressly stated otherwise, payments are made directly to the independent contractor according to the contractor’s written agreement.
Before making payment, confirm the contractor’s business name, accepted payment methods, deposit requirements, project stages, and final-payment conditions.
Who handles permits and inspections?
Permit and inspection responsibilities should be established before work begins.
Ask the contractor whether permits are required, who will obtain them, whose name will appear on the permit, and who will schedule inspections. Requirements vary by project and jurisdiction.
Who provides the project warranty?
Any labor, material, manufacturer, or service warranty is provided by the contractor, manufacturer, or another identified third party.
JeffCo Home Pros does not provide or guarantee contractor warranties. Request all warranty terms in writing and keep the documents after the project is completed.
What if I have a problem with a contractor?
First, review your written agreement and communicate the concern directly to the contractor.
You may also notify JeffCo Home Pros. We may document the issue, forward information, review future referral participation, or attempt to facilitate communication. However, we are not required to mediate, investigate, reimburse, repair, or resolve disputes between customers and contractors.
You may also contact the appropriate licensing board, insurer, consumer-protection agency, law-enforcement agency, or court when warranted.
Does JeffCo Home Pros guarantee contractor work?
